Whitgift Centre
The Whitgift Centre will be animated with an exciting programme of performances, workshops and photography exhibitions. The event will start at 1pm with a procession with musicians and dancers from the Whitgift Almshouse at George Street to the entrance of Whitgift Centre with internationally acclaimed musicians and dancers and young musical talents of Croydon.

Frock by Stop Gap
Six striking dancers collide in an uplifting dance riot. Experience playful observations of the yesteryears explode into a ‘punkish’ celebration of individuality and difference.
Ya Devi by Devika Rao
Powerful and passionate new dance work, that uses multiple classical and folk Indian dance styles to explore personal stories of strong women in 21st century Britain.
Kaleidoscope by Anubhava
Through rhythm and the pure joy of movement, the performance plays with geometric patterns, creating a mesmerising visual experience.
Bharatanatyam Fusion by Team Annam
Funky Tamil and Bollywood beats meets Bharatanatyam. This performance blends classical dance with a modern twist,
Ganesh Sthuthi by Upahaar
The dancers offer their prayers to elephant headed god Ganesha.
Cultural Connection by Vipul Sangoi
An ongoing project that explores how young people from South Asian communities in Croydon negotiate their cultural identities in the UK.
Day 2
8 Sept' Programme
1 - 1.20pm
Procession from Whitgift Almshouse to Whitgift Centre
The procession will start with performers on Thavil, a drum, played by Prakash RL; and Nadaswaram, a reed instrument from South India. They will be joined by dancers from Anubhava and Devika Rao group. 40 young musicians trained by Croydon Music and Arts will join them.

Performances and Exhibition at Whitgift Square
Experience a dynamic lineup of performances featuring exceptional artists and dance companies that will celebrate the richness of contemporary, folk, and classical dance in the Whitgift Square.
It’ll also have a photography exhibition Cultural Connection by Vipul Sangoi.
