Subrang Arts
Subrang Arts is a leading South Asian arts organisation dedicated to the promotion and development of South Asian arts. We profile and programme new and culturally exciting diverse arts by creating and developing high quality dance productions, visual arts exhibitions, heritage projects, music concerts, arts festivals, yoga and craft workshops. One of our objectives is to make diverse arts accessible to all, explore cross cultural art forms, give opportunities to people to learn new skills and cultivate their ambitions. We actively engage people of all age groups in our activities, give them a supportive environment in which transformative experiences and exciting intercultural exchanges take place.
Under the guidance of resident dance teacher Harsha Amin, a new generation of performers are grounded in the traditions of Kathak but also opportunities are given to collaborate with numerous cross genre musicians exploring music and movement.
Harsha Amin is a talented dancer, choreographer and teacher. An exponent of both Bharatnatyam and Kathak traditions, she has been the resident teacher at Subrang Arts. She trained under the tutelage of Sunita Golvala (MBE) who instilled in her total dedication to the art of classical dancing together with an imaginative understanding and insight into different dance styles. A founder member of ‘Croydon Dance Forum’, Harsha has directed numerous productions like ‘Baaje Muraliya’, ‘Ho Rang Rasiya’, ‘Dances of India’, ‘Meera’, ‘Janak Dulari Sita’, ‘Shakuntala’, ‘Peace and Harmony’ and  ‘Oratorio of Hope’ with the London Mozart Players. Her forthcoming production of Gujarati Folk dances,  ‘Taaliyo Na Taale’ will premier at Fairfield Halls in March 2025 and then tour to other venues in UK.
